(Pic by David Rawcliffe\/Propaganda)\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden alignnone size-medium wp-image-284104\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>While Australia chose to play Colombia in New York instead, Argentina didn\u2019t organise another fixture, meaning Mac Allister has played a match fewer than many of his Liverpool teammates during this international window.<\/p>\n<p>While the 26-year-old still played 85 minutes in Angola, it will no doubt be seen as a small boost to Liverpool that he avoided an extra matchday.<\/p>\n<p>Often bypassed easily in midfield, Mac Allister has looked a shadow of his previous self this season but has begun to show signs of life again in recent outings. <\/p>\n<p>Against <a data-ail=\"330360\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/aston-villa\/\" title=\"Aston Villa\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Aston Villa<\/a> and in the 1-0 win over <a data-ail=\"330360\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/real-madrid\/\" title=\"Real Madrid\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Real Madrid<\/a>, against whom he got the only goal, the Argentine\u2019s spark <a data-mil=\"330360\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/2025\/11\/mac-allister-villa-turning-point\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">returned<\/a> with more duels won and more chances created.<\/p>\n<p>At 26 years old, we shouldn\u2019t be writing Mac Allister off as having lost his legs. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>It has been evident at times in his career that his gruelling international trips across the Atlantic have had an impact on his performances. <\/p>\n<p><a data-ail=\"330360\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/jurgen-klopp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jurgen Klopp<\/a> came to acknowledge this and now <a data-ail=\"330360\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/arne-slot\/\" title=\"Arne Slot\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Arne Slot<\/a> will have to learn to adapt also. <\/p>\n<p>With <a data-ail=\"330360\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/curtis-jones\/\" title=\"Curtis Jones\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Curtis Jones<\/a> in good form, the coach left Mac Allister out against <a data-ail=\"330360\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/brentford\/\" title=\"Brentford\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brentford<\/a> and Eintracht Frankfurt, allowing him the rest he required. <\/p>\n<p>Returning to last year\u2019s 4-3-3 against Villa and Madrid also helped, with more support alongside Mac Allister in midfield rather than just one other.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/P2025-10-04-Chelsea_Liverpool-74-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"LONDON, ENGLAND - Saturday, October 4, 2025: Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister during the FA Premier League match between Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge.
