{"id":39030,"date":"2025-07-04T21:07:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T21:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/39030\/"},"modified":"2025-07-04T21:07:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T21:07:11","slug":"madre-fire-burning-over-70000-acres-in-california-largest-in-the-state-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/39030\/","title":{"rendered":"Madre Fire burning over 70,000 acres in California, largest in the state this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A wildfire broke out in California and has rapidly spread to burn more than 70,800 acres, making it the largest in the state this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fire.ca.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">according<\/a> to state fire officials. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s 10% contained as of Friday afternoon, Cal Fire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fire.ca.gov\/incidents\/2025\/7\/2\/madre-fire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The fire began Wednesday in the Los Padres National Forest, federally managed land area in Central California, and has prompted evacuation orders, warnings and highway closures in residential San Luis Obispo County about 100 miles north of Los Angeles. Kern County is also experiencing various levels of evacuations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we approach the holiday weekend, the Madre Fire, the largest of 2025, is a stark reminder of potential dangers,&#8221; the U.S. Forest Service <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/15wXD1uEWu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>California Interagency Incident Management Team 8 will assume command of the fire at 7:00 p.m., July 4, officials said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/palisades-fire-zone-fire-hardened-homes-rebuild\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Palisades<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/eaton-fire-devastates-altadena-historic-black-community-history-book-lit-on-fire\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eaton fires<\/a> killed 30 people and burned 23,707 acres and 14,021 acres. The fires destroyed more than 12,000 structures and forced around 200,000 residents to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/los-angeles-wildfire-evacuees-price-gouging-predatory-businesses-landlords\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">evacuate <\/a>the Los Angeles area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/screen-shot-2025-07-03-at-2-45-42-pm.png#.png\" alt=\"screen-shot-2025-07-03-at-2-45-42-pm.png \" height=\"340\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  The Madre fire in California rapidly spread to 52,500 acres, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>                Bureau Of Land Management<\/p>\n<p>Cal Fire has deployed air crews and ground resources to assist the Forest Service, as it is spreading off federal land and &#8220;now moving toward state areas,&#8221; according to Governor Newsom&#8217;s office. The state is &#8220;operating in Unified Command with our federal and local partners to protect lives, property, and communities,&#8221; Newsom&#8217;s office added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With the current weather, terrain, and fuels conditions this fire has seen exponential growth in less than 24 hours,&#8221; the U.S. Forest Service said in a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/p\/1EYFPeVV4o\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">\u00a0statement<\/a>\u00a0Thursday when the fire grew to more than 35,000 acres.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/gettyimages-2222747279.jpg#.jpeg\" alt=\"Madre Fire: Wildfire continues in Central California \" height=\"413\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  CALIFORNIA, USA &#8211; JULY 3: A view of flames in a rural area of San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County as the wildfire continue in Central California, United States on July 3, 2025. Officials said a full response was initiated that included seven air tankers, and two helicopters along with multiple engines and hand crews with 608 personnel.
