\u201cThe View\u201d<\/a> co-host\u00a0Joy Behar<\/a>\u00a0suggested Tuesday that a conservative woman could have a better chance of winning the presidency than a liberal one.<\/p>\n

On the show\u2019s podcast, Behar, her co-host Sunny Hostin<\/a> and \u201cThe View\u201d producer Brian Teta\u00a0commented on a recent segment<\/a>\u00a0where they discussed whether a woman could ever become president. <\/p>\n

Hostin said she couldn\u2019t see one winning in her lifetime, but Behar suggested it was possible with the right candidate.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s possible that somebody like a Liz Cheney could win if she wasn\u2019t in the doghouse with her own party right now,\u201d Behar said. \u201cShe could be somebody who could run. I think maybe a conservative woman would win faster than a liberal. It\u2019s possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people think that,\u201d Teta responded. \u201cA lot of people think a conservative woman might win first.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joy Behar\u00a0suggested that a conservative woman could have a better chance of winning the presidency than a liberal one during while speaking on \u201cThe View\u201d podcast on Tuesday. The View \/ YouTube<\/p>\n

\u201cA White conservative woman,\u201d Hostin clarified, adding that there\u2019s still \u201ca lot of misogyny in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

No woman has ever won the Republican<\/a> presidential nomination.<\/p>\n

Earlier on \u201cThe View,\u201d the women discussed former first lady Michelle Obama\u2019s recent comments<\/a> about America not\u00a0being ready for a female president.<\/p>\n

Behar said it\u2019s possible for \u201csomebody like a Liz Cheney\u201d to win the presidency \u201cif she wasn\u2019t in the doghouse with her own party right now.\u201d REUTERS<\/p>\n

Co-host\u00a0Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a> disagreed\u00a0with Obama, arguing that the recent candidates, Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris<\/a>, were flawed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI respectfully disagree with the first lady,\u201d Griffin said. \u201cI don\u2019t think that we\u2019re not ready. I think when you look at the two candidates that were Democratic nominees, Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, there is sexism that plays in. They were flawed candidates.\u201d<\/p>\n

Behar pushed back on the comment, insisting that several other countries, such as Mexico<\/a>, have already elected female presidents.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re the only country,\u201d Behar said.<\/p>\n

Co-host\u00a0Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that the recent female candidates, Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, were flawed. AP<\/p>\n

During the show, Hostin said she didn\u2019t believe that the country was ready to elect a Black woman president because of its history of racism<\/a> and misogyny<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of my lived experience, as an Afro Latina, I\u2019m able to look at this world with a different prism, and I\u2019m able to tell this country and tell this audience and tell my fellow co-hosts some uncomfortable truths.
