{"id":390683,"date":"2025-11-19T20:43:16","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T20:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/390683\/"},"modified":"2025-11-19T20:43:16","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T20:43:16","slug":"chris-mccarthy-follows-taylor-sheridan-to-nbcuniversal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/390683\/","title":{"rendered":"Chris McCarthy Follows Taylor Sheridan to NBCUniversal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFormer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/paramount\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paramount_1\" data-tag=\"paramount\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paramount<\/a> co-CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/chris-mccarthy\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chris-mccarthy_1\" data-tag=\"chris-mccarthy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chris McCarthy<\/a> and the prolific Yellowstone and Landman creator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/taylor-sheridan\/\" id=\"auto-tag_taylor-sheridan_1\" data-tag=\"taylor-sheridan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Taylor Sheridan<\/a> will be reuniting at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/nbcuniversal\/\" id=\"auto-tag_nbcuniversal_1\" data-tag=\"nbcuniversal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBCUniversal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that McCarthy will help produce shows for NBCU and manage the company\u2019s relationship with Sheridan, who is set to move his film deal to NBCU next year, and his TV output deal in 2029. Together, they\u2019ll have to come up with a whole slew of new shows: Sheridan\u2019s existing series will remain Paramount property.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThere, Sheridan\u2019s universe of hits also includes Yellowstone prequel 1923 and its prequel 1883. He\u2019s behind the Sylvester Stallone-led Tulsa King, its own spinoff Nola King,\u00a0and other series like Special Ops: Lioness\u00a0and\u00a0Mayor of Kingstown. Sheridan\u2019s next film, an action-thriller\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/taylor-sheridan-action-thriller-f-a-s-t-brandon-sklenar-1236216363\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called F.A.S.T.<\/a>, is set up at Warner Bros.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSheridan\u2019s production company, 101 Studios, is led by David Glasser. McCarthy and Glasser previously worked together on Paramount+ series Mobland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAt Paramount, it was McCarthy who gave Sheridan basically everything he asked for \u2014 including huge budgets and free rein over shooting locations (Sheridan prefers Montana and Texas) \u2014 who wouldn\u2019t want that guy back as their personal liaison?<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tNBCU chief Donna Langley personally <a data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/taylor-sheridan-nbcuniversal-paramount-deal-inside-1236412201\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/taylor-sheridan-nbcuniversal-paramount-deal-inside-1236412201\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poached the cowboy Sheridan from Paramount<\/a>. But she didn\u2019t ride in on a horse \u2014 Langley backed up the Brink\u2019s truck. Sheridan\u2019s new deal is said to be worth as much as $1 billion, should his output there meet certain criteria. McCarthy had been one of the three men occupying Paramount Global\u2019s \u201cOffice of the CEO\u201d following Bob Bakish\u2019s (<a data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/hollywood-ceo-pay-2024-chart-1236209962\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/hollywood-ceo-pay-2024-chart-1236209962\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">very rich<\/a>) exit. George Cheeks is still there; <a data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/paramount-co-ceo-brian-robbins-shares-farewell-memo-1236336963\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/paramount-co-ceo-brian-robbins-shares-farewell-memo-1236336963\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brian Robbins is not<\/a>. The short version of the overly-complex org chart is that McCarthy oversaw cable and streaming, Cheeks did CBS, and Robbins ran the film division. McCarthy and Robbins got <a data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/paramount-global-ceos-pay-1236032719\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/paramount-global-ceos-pay-1236032719\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sweet golden parachutes<\/a>, but no one was paid to not work at Paramount as much as Bakish.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEllison is now sole CEO of Paramount Skydance; Cheeks still oversees CBS and took over McCarthy\u2019s cable duties, but not streaming.
