Jenna Bush Hager is vetoing this hot take.<\/p>\n
The \u201cToday with Jenna & Friends\u201d host<\/a>, 43, shared on \u201cToday\u201d that viewers may not see her father, former President George W. Bush, on her morning talk show anytime soon.<\/p>\n Since Hoda Kotb\u00a0left \u201cToday\u201d in January, Bush Hager has had a series of rotating guest co-hosts on. <\/p>\n Bush, 79, meanwhile, recently appeared on Peyton and Eli Manning\u2019s\u00a0\u201cManningCast\u201d show<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n Despite his zoom cameo, the former POTUS has yet to come on his daughter\u2019s show as a co-host.<\/p>\n Jenna Bush Hager poses in front of her morning show segment sign. Eli Manning\/YouTube<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve actually asked him, and maybe I\u2019ll do a public ask for him to come and be a \u2018friend\u2019 since he\u2019s my father,\u201d Bush Hager confessed on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n Her co-hosts pointed out that Bush doesn\u2019t really make television appearances, to which the journalist replied: \u201cWell, he said he was retired so I was surprised as anyone to see him on Monday night.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Savannah Guthrie said that Bush didn\u2019t have to leave the comfort of his own home for his \u201cManningCast\u201d appearance. However, to come on his daughter\u2019s show, that requires a trip to the Big Apple.<\/p>\n \u201cWhy don\u2019t you go to Texas and do the show from there?\u201d\u00a0Al Roker\u00a0asked. <\/p>\n Bush Hager said she didn\u2019t think \u201cJenna & Friends\u201d had that type of budget.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like for a former president we could find it,\u201d\u00a0Craig Melvin\u00a0quipped.\u00a0<\/p>\n Jenna Bush Hager and George W. And I remember when we first started working together you were afraid.\u201d<\/p>\n Bush Hager recounted talking to her dad when she replaced Kathie Lee Gifford as Kotb\u2019s co-host on the 10 a.m. hour show on \u201cToday\u201d in 2019.<\/p>\n \u201cI called my dad when I started. He said, \u2018I\u2019m so happy for you \u2014 and Hoda\u2019s the star. You\u2019re gonna be okay with that, right?
