The donation was made in honor of his mother, Deloris Jordan, and resulted in the medical center&#8217;s neuroscience institute <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NovantHealth\/status\/1990797688787325375?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">being named<\/a> the Novant Health Deloris Jordan Neuroscience Institute.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The generous contribution is designed to significantly advance research and innovation in brain health and increase access to state-of-the-art neurological care across southeastern North Carolina. Patients at the newly named institute will benefit from advanced technology, specialized physicians, and comprehensive treatment programs for complex conditions, including stroke, Alzheimer\u2019s diagnosis, Parkinson\u2019s disease, and spine ailments.<\/p>\n<p>This $10 million gift adds to a long-standing philanthropic partnership between Jordan and Novant Health, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beckershospitalreview.com\/capital\/michael-jordan-gifts-10m-to-novant-health-hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">bringing Jordan&#8217;s total contributions to the Novant Health Foundation<\/a> to $27 million. The partnership previously led to the creation of four Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinics in underserved communities in both Wilmington and Charlotte, providing essential primary and preventive care.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy mother taught me the importance of compassion and community, and I can&#8217;t think of a better way to honor her than by helping to ensure those in need can obtain the most advanced neurological care available,\u201d Jordan said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.novanthealth.org\/newsroom\/releases-20251118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">in a press release<\/a>.
