Instead, a compromise was struck to transition 78% of crosswalks, targeting locations with the most benefit, within seven years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it gives us the best balance of urgency, equity and fiscal responsibility,\u201d City Councilmember Kesha Hodge Washington said during Wednesday\u2019s Transportation, Infrastructure and Planning Subcommittee meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The subcommittee approved the plan unanimously.
