Happy Thursday,<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though the holidays are already upon us, Fort Worth knows the only way to officially kick off the season is by lighting up downtown with a parade of lights.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The beloved event returns this Sunday for its 43rd year. The GM Financial Parade of Lights<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>will feature more than 100 illuminated floats rolling along a nearly 2 mile route in downtown Fort Worth. Find out what streets are involved in the fun, below.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Plus, a new exhibition spotlighting local Latina artists opens on Saturday at The Pool at Near Southside. I\u2019ll be there to check out the show, so make sure to say hello if you see me!<\/p>\n

Shine bright as floats light up downtown streets<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The parade starts at the intersection of Weatherford and Throckmorton streets. Floats will proceed east along Weatherford Street before turning south on Commerce to 9th Street. The parade will turn west past the Convention Center to Houston Street and then north to 2nd Street. Click here<\/strong><\/a> for a complete map. <\/p>\n

Watch athletes showcase endurance, power at Arlington competition<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The four-day event is the largest international strongman and strongwoman competition. Athletes will face off in various divisions, including Max Elephant Bar Deadlift and Hercules Hold. Fans will get behind-the-scenes access with ticket purchases. <\/p>\n

When: <\/strong>8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 20; 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Nov. 21-22; 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Nov.23<\/p>\n

Admission: Free admission Thursday; <\/strong>$35-$300<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Listen to American roots music as moonlight shines through skyspace<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Fort Worth-based musician Brandi Waller-Pace and New Orleans-based music therapist Shanice Richards will perform inside the venue designed by renowned artist James Turrell. <\/p>\n

Celebrate local Latina artists at new Near Southside exhibition<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The exhibition is organized by arts educator Natalia Margarita Dominguez as part of her doctoral research at TCU. Participating artists include Dizzy Orbit, Astral Tripper, Megan Coca, Elena Aredondo Greer, Stacey Najera and Taylor Pels-Hernandez.<\/p>\n
