What started out as an indie fall pop-up has now become the Upper East Side\u2019s newest literary hangout. Zibby\u2019s Bookshop, the indie shop created by bestselling author and media entrepreneur Zibby Owens,\u00a0took over part of\u00a0fashion store Minnie Rose back in October. The plan was to close in January, but the pop-up is now permanent\u2014woohoo!<\/p>\n

Owens has built an ecosystem around books through Zibby Media<\/a>, her women-led company that champions authors and readers. The brand includes a daily interview podcast, a boutique publishing house, retreats, events and an independent bookstore in Santa Monica. Now, NYC can claim a spot in the Zibby universe, tucked in a corner of Minnie Rose\u2019s polished Madison Avenue space.<\/p>\n

The luxury knitwear boutique is home to the warm, bright nook lined with roughly 175 contemporary titles handpicked by Owens and her team. The selection is thoughtful, aimed at helping people find their next great read and sparking conversation. In honor of the collab, Minnie Rose created a limited edition \u201cTotally Booked\u201d sweater, named\u00a0after Zibby’s podcast.<\/p>\n

But the books and sweaters are just the start. The pop-up has a full calendar of live events that brings authors directly to the neighborhood. Owens records many of her podcasts in front of a live audience, which turns the shop into a tiny studio where fans can hear writers talk through their craft and the stories behind their newest releases.<\/p>\n

Upcoming recordings<\/a> include ones with Julie Doar, Jennifer Wallace, Tracy Dobmeier and Wendy Katzman, Marisa Kashino, Meghan Riordan Jarvis, Jennifer Niven and Emma Tourtelot, among others. Also expect an event celebrating Russ & Daughters’ latest cookbook, 100 Years of Appetizing.<\/p>\n
