A week ago, Austin Vandegrift appeared to be one-and-done in the playoffs on the heels of winning a state title the year before.<\/p>\n

However, the Vipers were able to survive another week after making a field goal with no time left to defeat Austin Westlake in the University Interscholastic League 6A Division II bi-district round.<\/p>\n

Now, Vandegrift attempts to make it through another week, as the Vipers face San Antonio Brandeis in the area round, which takes place Thursday night in San Marcos.<\/p>\n

Vandegrift, with the win last week, moves to 9-2 on the season.<\/p>\n

As for Brandeis, the Broncos enter Thursday\u2019s postseason game at 8-3, but have won six of their last seven contests. In their playoff opener last week, they also had to survive and advance, edging fellow San Antonio school Sotomayor, 35-32.<\/p>\n
