The negative buzz surrounding James Gunn\u2019s Superman reboot keeps growing, this time from Variety, who took a swipe at the film in an unrelated review.<\/p>\n

So far that\u2019s two strikes against Gunn\u2019s new Man of Steel.<\/p>\n

What does Variety say about Superman?<\/p>\n

In their new review for Amazon\u2019s Heads of State, an action-comedy starring John Cena (who also stars as Gunn\u2019s DCU Peacemaker) and Idris Elba, Variety compares the movie\u2019s goofy approach to Superman and even says Heads of State is a better movie:<\/p>\n

The jab comes after Gunn\u2019s Superman faced harsh criticism from The Daily Beast, who called the DCU reboot \u201cterrible\u201d and the \u201cfinal nail in the grave for the superhero genre.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

So far, Gunn and Warner Bros. haven\u2019t responded to the backlash, but early reactions online continue to be mixed. An insider has offered fans will either love it or hate it<\/a>. <\/p>\n
