\u201cThe View\u201d co-host Sunny Hostin<\/a> accused former New York Magazine journalist Olivia Nuzzi<\/a> of being \u201cunethical\u201d Thursday as the journalist faces new allegations of an improper romantic relationship.<\/p>\n

Nuzzi, who has written a forthcoming book about an alleged \u201csexting\u201d relationship with\u00a0Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a>\u00a0during his presidential campaign, was accused this week by her ex-fianc\u00e9, Ryan Lizza<\/a>, of also having a romantic relationship with former South Carolina Gov. and Rep. Mark Sanford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, it\u2019s akin to an attorney sleeping with her client. It\u2019s akin to a prosecutor sleeping with a witness,\u201d Hostin said. <\/p>\n

\u201cA shrink, a doctor sleeping with a patient. It\u2019s unethical. It\u2019s beneath the professional standards.\u201d<\/p>\n

Co-host\u00a0Joy Behar<\/a>\u00a0added that it \u201cundermines the work.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is now the West Coast\u00a0editor for Vanity Fair,\u201d Hostin added after Behar noted that she got the job after the scandal broke. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat, to me, undermines that position. I don\u2019t know how you trust her as a journalist.\u201d<\/p>\n

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin<\/a> defended Nuzzi, expressing frustration that the journalist faced backlash while Health and Human Services Secretary RFK Jr. got off \u201cscot-free,\u201d she argued.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the alleged RFK situation was inappropriate. I would have never engaged,\u201d Griffin said during the discussion.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think women in journalism should, but I think you can come back from one mistake. I don\u2019t think that should ruin your entire career.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat makes me nervous about the story, it sounds like there may have been other situations, and I just hope, if that\u2019s untrue, she will come forward and defend herself. She is tremendously talented, and I think that would really help her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nuzzi has not spoken out on Lizza\u2019s allegations, which he\u00a0published in a Substack<\/a>\u00a0on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nuzzi did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital about Hostin\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n

Lizza claimed that, in 2020, he had found a note spilling out of Nuzzi\u2019s backpack in the Georgetown townhouse that would \u201calter the course of our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were under contract to write a book about the presidential campaign. The primaries were in full swing, and it felt like we were falling behind on our project. But there was one bright spot. Olivia was spending more and more time in South Carolina, from where she had just returned, which was a good thing, I thought, considering how politically important the state was,\u201d Lizza wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the fall, she had published, in\u00a0New York Magazine, a profile of a long-shot but intriguing presidential candidate, and he continued to be a helpful source,\u201d he continued, later noting it was Sanford. <\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe this book would come together, after all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the book could be finished, Lizza said he found a note his then-fianc\u00e9e wrote that said, \u201cIf I swallowed every drop of water from the tower above your house, I would still thirst for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lizza wrote that he saw a name and the first line of an unfinished love letter, which he said had enough information for him to deduce that there was a physical relationship between them and some sort of falling out.<\/p>\n

He described the note as a love letter addressed to \u201ca famous politician, 32 years older than Olivia, and well-known for a sex scandal,\u201d identifying the recipient as Sanford.<\/p>\n
