The plane wasn\u2019t tracked by the FAA\u2019s system, which isn\u2019t uncommon for military jets. <\/p>\n
A spokesperson for Dallas Love Field said that they didn\u2019t have information on the fighter jets.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe military does utilize DAL for various operations,\u201d Love Field spokesman Patrick Clarke \u201cOur team, however, does not track nor is privy to their flight plans or purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n
The FAA referred any questions to the military. <\/p>\n
One of the jets had the letters \u201cN H\u201d on the tail, indicating that it was a part of the U.S. Navy\u2019s \u201cStrike Fighter Squadron 211,\u201d based out of Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Va. <\/p>\n
The squadron is nicknamed \u201cFighting Checkmates\u201d as shown by a large checkmark on the jets\u2019 tails.<\/p>\n
Representatives for the U.S. Navy\u2019s Southern Command did not respond to requests for comment by the time of publication.<\/p>\n
