Rumer Willis is sharing insight into dad Bruce Willis\u2019 health journey. <\/a><\/p>\n

On Thursday, the actress, 37, took to her Instagram Stories<\/a> for a Q&A session with followers.<\/p>\n

One person asked: \u201cHow\u2019s your dad doing?\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cDie Hard\u201d actor, 70, was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022, months before his family publicly shared that he was suffering from frontotemporal dementia (FTD)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople always ask me this question, and I think it\u2019s kind of a hard one to answer,\u201d Rumer replied. \u201cBecause the truth is, that anybody with FTD is not doing great. But he\u2019s doing OK, in terms of somebody who\u2019s dealing with frontotemporal dementia.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so grateful that when I go over there, and I give him a hug,\u201d she continued, \u201cwhether he recognizes me or not, that he can feel the love I\u2019ve given him, and I can feel it back from him. That I still see a spark of him, and he can feel the love that I\u2019m giving. So that feels really nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumer also shared how thankful she is to be able to take her daughter,\u00a0Luetta, 23 months, over to see her dad.<\/p>\n

Bruce also shares daughters Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 31, with ex-wife Demi Moore.<\/p>\n

Bruce and the \u201cSubstance\u201d actress, 63, divorced in 2000 after 13 years. He married Emma Heming Willis in 2009 and the couple share daughters Mabel, 13, and\u00a0Evelyn, 11.<\/p>\n

After his diagnosis, Bruce\u00a0retired from acting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce\u2019s original diagnosis,\u201d his family posted to\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0in 2023. \u201cIn the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.\u201d<\/p>\n

In August, Emma, 47, revealed that the \u201cAssassin\u201d vet moved into a \u201csecond home\u201d nearby<\/a>, where he receives round-the-clock care. <\/p>\n

\u201cI knew by being honest and open about it that it would be\u00a0met with a lot of judgment<\/a>,\u201d she said at Endwell 2025<\/a> this week. \u201cI did a lot of therapy<\/a> around that to kind of, like, get myself ready.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe judgment comes from the outside,\u201d Emma continued.<\/p>\n

Some social media users criticized the author\u2019s decision to have the \u201cPulp Fiction\u201d star living in a separate residence. \u201cIf you are not on the front lines of this, in that person\u2019s house day in, day out, 365 days a year, you don\u2019t get a say and you don\u2019t get a vote,\u201d she clapped back. \u201cF\u2014k \u2018em.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the best decision for our family. It was the safest one. And our family is now, in essence, thriving,\u201d Emma explained. \u201cPeople don\u2019t realize all the needs that go unmet behind closed doors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their daughters are now able to have friends come over again, while still being able to see their father at his house.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir world has completely opened up, and so has my husband\u2019s,\u201d said the entrepreneur. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the right thing for our family, and it might not be right for everybody else\u2019s, but that\u2019s OK,\u201d Emma noted. \u201cWe\u2019re all on our own journey.\u201d <\/p>\n

Moore, meanwhile, gave a rare update on her ex-husband\u2019s dementia battle<\/a> in Dec. 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the givens, he\u2019s in a very stable place at the moment,\u201d the Golden Globe winner said during an interview with\u00a0CNN<\/a>. \u201cAnd I\u2019ve shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely. It\u2019s so important for anybody who\u2019s dealing with this to really meet them where they\u2019re at, and from that place, there is such loving and joy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moore added that watching a loved one struggle with the condition is \u201cvery difficult\u201d and is \u201cnot what I would wish upon anyone.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThere is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come from it.\u201d<\/p>\n
