GENOA, Ill. (WIFR) – Video sent to WIFR from Veteran Scott Hamm of Genoa captures the startling moment a bald eagle drops a rabbit onto his truck. <\/p>\n

Video sent to WIFR from Veteran Scott Hamm of Genoa captures the startling moment a Bald Eagle drops a rabbit onto his truck.<\/p>\n

Hamm says the incident happened on Veterans Day. His wife called him to let him know a dead rabbit was laying in their yard. Without thinking too much of it, Hamm says he checked their Nest Cam and saw something strange.<\/p>\n

At first glance, Hamm explains he thought he saw someone throw the rabbit at his truck. But after several re-watches, he realized a bird dropped the unlucky rabbit from the sky.<\/p>\n

But it wasn\u2019t just any bird. With the help of another camera angle, Hamm determined the culprit was a bald eagle. <\/p>\n

\u201cI thought the whole thing was wild especially happening on Veterans Day. Don\u2019t think there is anything more American than that,\u201d Hamm told WIFR. <\/p>\n

Hamm said while he appreciates the \u201cgift,\u201d he wishes the eagle had picked a better spot to drop it off. <\/p>\n
