LSU<\/a><\/strong> is finalizing an offer of roughly $90 million for Lane Kiffin<\/a><\/strong>, Yahoo! Sports\u2019 Ross Dellenger reported<\/a>. In addition, the Tigers would be offering roster cash worth roughly $25 million annually.<\/p>\n

Kiffin met Friday with Ole Miss<\/a><\/strong> chancellor Glenn Boyce<\/strong> and athletics director Keith Carter<\/strong> , who said a decision is expected to be announced<\/a><\/strong> after next week\u2019s Egg Bowl against Mississippi State<\/a><\/strong>. Kiffin\u2019s future remains the biggest storyline in college football as both LSU and Florida<\/a><\/strong> pursue him for their respective head coach openings.<\/p>\n

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry<\/strong> has blessed the lucrative offer, Dellenger reported. It\u2019s the latest turn in the race to land the most highly coveted candidate of this coaching cycle. However, it\u2019s still unclear what Kiffin will decide to do with his future. <\/p>\n

Ole Miss is on a bye in Week 13, and the Rebels are still very much alive in the College Football Playoff<\/a><\/strong> race. A victory over Mississippi State on Black Friday could all but seal a bid to the CFP for the first time in program history. But Kiffin\u2019s future looms large. Lane Kiffin\u2019s future takes center stage during bye week<\/p>\n

During an appearance on\u00a0The Pat McAfee Show, Lane Kiffin\u00a0denied the idea of an \u201cultimatum\u201d<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to inform the school of a decision by the Egg Bowl. Additionally, he\u00a0received numerous questions<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0about his next steps during this week\u2019s SEC coaches teleconference. He made it clear he plans on coaching against Mississippi State in the season finale.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you know something that I don\u2019t know?\u201d Kiffin said. \u201cDo I expect to coach next week? Why would I not expect to coach next week? I mean, I expected to coach against Florida too. So I don\u2019t even understand the question about how I would not expect to coach next week. Why would I (not) be at work?\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement released Friday, Carter said Kiffin\u2019s focus is on preparation for the Egg Bowl, which will be at noon ET on Black Friday. From there, an announcement on his future would be expected Nov. 29\u00a0\u2013 the day after the rivalry game.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach Kiffin and I have had many pointed and positive conversations regarding his future at Ole Miss, including meeting today with Chancellor Boyce,\u201d\u00a0Carter wrote in a statement<\/a>. \u201cWhile we discuss next steps, we know we cannot lose sight of what is most important\u00a0\u2013 our sixth-ranked team that is poised to finish the regular season in historic fashion.<\/p>\n
