Barcelona have been slapped with another fine by UEFA for breaching financial Fair Play regulations.<\/p>\n

The news comes as no surprise as club chief Joan Laporta had met with UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin<\/a> in a bid to discuss possible sanctions.<\/p>\n

There were fears that Barca could have faced a heftier sanction<\/a>, as this is the second time they have fallen foul of the rules, but UEFA have decided against going down that route.<\/p>\n

Instead, Barcelona will have to cough up a hefty \u20ac15 million for making excessive losses.<\/p>\n

Barcelona are not the only club in trouble with Europe\u2019s governing body, either. Chelsea have been fined \u20ac31m which is a record sum in a single season.<\/p>\n

The Premier League big spenders were fined \u20ac20m for failing to approach break-even and \u20ac11m for spending more than a 80% set limit of its revenue on so-called \u201csquad cost\u201d such as transfers and wages.<\/p>\n
