King, since January 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDeadline understands that her contract was ending and was not renewed. There is no word on replacement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMacro Television Studios is behind series such as Apple\u2019s David Oyelowo period drama Government Cheese, which premiered earlier this year, FX\u2019s Tupac docuseries Dear Mama and Tubi original Always Lady London, which launched on the Fox-owned streamer last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBefore joining Macro, Hunter was EVP, Programming and Development at Disney\u2019s Freeform, a role that she held for four years. She oversaw series such as Jessica Biel-exec produced Cruel Summer, Black-ish spinoff Grown-ish, Good Trouble and Single Drunk Female.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBefore that she spent a year at Kenya Barris\u2019 Khalabo Ink Society as President, when it was based at Netflix with an overall deal, resulting in series such as BlackAF, animated series Entergalactic and sketch series Astronomy Club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPrior to hooking up with Barris, she was VP of Comedy at ABC, where she worked on series including Black-ish, Fresh Off The Boat and Last Man Standing. Hunter joined ABC in 2011 and took the reins of the department in 2016.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHunter\u2019s resume also includes a run as VP of Comedy Development for 20th Century Fox Television and a brief stint as head of programming for then-fledgling OWN.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"EXCLUSIVE: Jamila Hunter is exiting as President of Macro Television Studios.
