Yo, travelers! Guess what? Philadelphia International Airport now has its very own “Rocky” statue. <\/p>\n
The statue sits between gates A-15 and A-16, giving millions of people a chance to snap a photo with the \u201cItalian Stallion\u201d without ever leaving the terminal.<\/p>\n
So if you don\u2019t have time to visit the famous statue at the Philadelphia Art Museum, you can do your victory pose before take off.<\/p>\n
The statue is a permanent addition to the airport\u2019s Art Exhibitions program.<\/p>\n
Officials said Sylvester Stallone had commissioned renowned sculptor A. Thomas Schomberg to create the iconic statue for “Rocky III.” Schomberg cast three statues \u2014 one resides at the foot of the famous Philadelphia Art Museum steps; one from Stallone\u2019s private collection is on loan and currently sits at the top of the Art Museum steps; and the third is now permanently installed at the airport. <\/p>\n
To celebrate the big reveal, the airport even hosted a Rocky look-alike contest. <\/p>\n
