It’s a neighborhood where people show up, participate and genuinely care about one another. We have made wonderful friends living here.

Another true gem of the neighborhood is Ridglea Hills Elementary. It’s a special school filled with parents, teachers and administrators who are dedicated to creating a safe, joyful and enriching learning environment for kids. The campus hosts a variety of events throughout the year that make each child’s experience memorable. A special shoutout to Principal Crenesha Cotton, who has led the school with steady, heartfelt dedication for many years.

Practically speaking, the neighborhood also offers unbeatable convenience. Grocery stores, plus Archie’s and Ace Hardware, are along Camp Bowie Boulevard. Large retailers are off Interstate 20, and delicious restaurants like Piattello, Doc B’s and Duck Donuts (a kid favorite!) are all close by, making daily life easy and accessible.

Beyond the neighborhood, we’ve grown to love Fort Worth itself. It’s a city that feels big when you need it to and small when you want it to be. There’s a sense of pride here — in community, in local businesses, in the city’s heritage — that you don’t find everywhere.

Fort Worth manages to blend growth and opportunity with warmth and authenticity, and that combination has made it an incredible place for our family to put down roots.

Kerry Miles is chief operating officer for Elevate Credit Inc. and has lived in the Ridglea Hills neighborhood since 2019. She and her husband, Dave, have three children.

Ridglea Hills

Total population: 4,385
Male: 49% | Female: 51%

Age
0-9: 13%

10-19: 14%

20-29: 12%

30-39: 16%

40-49: 12%

50-59: 8%

60-69: 12%

70-79: 11%

80 and older: 3%

Education
No degree: 4%

High school: 9%

Some college: 25%

Bachelor’s degree: 44%

Post-graduate: 18%

Race
White: 73% | Hispanic: 13% | Black: 9% | Asian: 1% | Two or more: 3%

Click on the link to view the Texas Education Agency ratings for nearby schools:

Related

Fort Worth Report is certified by the Journalism Trust Initiative for adhering to standards for ethical journalism.

Republish This Story

Republishing is free for noncommercial entities.
