Guardian Australia\u2019s Broken trust<\/a> series has uncovered allegations of policing failures before domestic and family violence homicides, and cases that were not adequately investigated.<\/p>\n

Over the course of the week, we revealed new information about the cases of Hannah Clarke and her children<\/a>, Gail Karran<\/a> and Kardell Lomas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our two-year investigation into the handling of these cases by Queensland police and coroners has received an overwhelming response from the public and the Guardian\u2019s supporters.<\/p>\n

We wanted to share some of those reactions with you.<\/p>\n

The actor and comedian Magda Szubanski, posting on X, responded to commentary about the killing of Lomas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She wrote: \u201cThis is heart-destroyingly tragic, appalling & enraging. 40 years ago I worked in a women\u2019s refuge & encountered first hand flippant police & an antagonistic\/dismissive system. Cannot believe still happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Betty Taylor, the chief executive of the Red Rose Foundation and a former member of the Queensland DFV death review and advisory board, wrote on LinkedIn: \u201cA huge thank you to these brave women (whistleblowers) and to Ben Smee for writing their painful efforts to expose the truth about the shocking realities of domestic violence related deaths. I also know from reading and discussing these horrendous deaths that the vast majority are predictable and preventable.\u201d<\/p>\n
