Bayern Munich returned to club football and the Bundesliga with a home fixture against SC Freiburg. Freiburg were a known difficult opponent and a solid challenge ahead of the all-important game against Arsenal FC away in the Champions League.<\/p>\n
Karl in particular, returns to club football following a phenomenal international break, debuting at the Germany U21 team. His incredible game against Malta was the talk of the town. In all fairness, the player himself has been the talk of the town following his performances since pre-season.<\/p>\n
The youngster has drawn several comparisons from Franck Rib\u00e9ry, to Arjen Robben, and now to Lionel Messi. The Argentine great who now competes with Bayern Munich\u2019s greatest Thomas M\u00fcller in the MLS is still in the conversation for his continued strong performances despite his age.<\/p>\n
Karl reacting to the comparisons following the win against Freiburg, denied them politely, per @iMiaSanMia.<\/p>\n
\u201cOther people said that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t compare myself to Messi. Messi is right at the top and there\u2019s a long way to go to reach that,\u201d the youngster raved. \u201cHe\u2019s my idol.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is clear Karl is being influenced by the right people and soon enough, we might see him going one for one against them and their records.<\/p>\n
