\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJudson ISD has paused one of its 2022 bond projects pending future financial actions.<\/p>\n
At the JISD board of trustees’ Nov. 20 meeting<\/a>, Daniel Brooks, district assistant superintendent of operations, told the board the JTECH Network Operations Center, or NOC, project will be put on hold.<\/p>\n A quick note<\/strong><\/p>\n The project, designed by MarmonMok<\/a> Architecture<\/a>, looks to add a 2,600-square-foot NOC along with a 2,400-square-foot warehouse to the Judson ISD Technology, or JTECH, building.<\/p>\n Latest update<\/strong><\/p>\n The project is on hold due to potential actions the district will need to take after the JISD voter-approval tax rate election, or VATRE<\/a>, did not pass. The election would have given the district $21 million<\/strong> in revenue to cut down on the budget deficit, as previously reported<\/a> by Community Impact.<\/p>\n Brooks said they paused the project in an effort to be “prudent” about what they will be doing moving forward.<\/p>\n “We do still need a NOC, but we\u2019ll have to relocate that in some other location in the district,\u201d Brooks said.<\/p>\n The district is required to complete the projects the bond calls for. However, projects will only be complete if they do not make substantial modifications to classrooms, which is due to the district’s consideration to consolidate schools again<\/a> following the results of the tax rate election, Brooks said.<\/p>\n Project details<\/strong><\/p>\n The estimated cost of construction for the project is about $4.2 million<\/strong>. It <\/strong>would take approximately 322 calendar days to complete, according to a MarmonMok Architecture’s request for proposals<\/a><\/p>\n
