As a result, the space right outside your steps was chaotic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch on Saturday issued a heartfelt apology to members of a prominent Manhattan synagogue which was the site of a hateful anti-Israel protest this week, conceding cops should have done a better job keeping an unruly mob away from people attending an event there. Private security at the synagogue even had to intervene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor\u2019s Office denied any rift between Tisch and Adams and instead pointed blame at the protestors and NYPD supervisors at the Manhattan North precinct for their handling of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe blame lies at the feet of those spreading their hateful message, and while the mayor and police commissioner were clear about the need to ensure the entrance to the synagogue was clear of protestors beforehand, the plan executed by the commander on the ground did not meet expectations,\u201d said Adams spokesman Fabian Levy.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Adams was \u201cfuming mad\u201d with how the NYPD handled the protest, sources said.
