Jackie Marlowe left Wisconsin for Arizona about 20 years ago and, since then, she has traveled the state and Southwest, discovering its environment and wildlife.<\/p>\n

The photographer spent several years taking pictures of the state, one of which is featured among 11 other photographers\u2019 works in the full-size 2026 Arizona Game and Fish Department’s wildlife calendar.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will continue to hone my skills and my connection to nature and wildlife without end,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the five years that I have been a serious wildlife photographer, I have not changed much about what I do,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cKnowing your equipment and loving the whole process seems to serve me well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her photograph and the other winning images are published in Arizona Wildlife Views<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 full-size 2026 wildlife calendar.<\/p>\n

\u201cSharing this passion with the public and telling stories through social media has become a true joy,\u201d Marlowe said.<\/p>\n

Meet Dan
<\/strong>Dan McCarthy joined Independent Newsmedia as web content editor after a 40-plus year career as a reporter and editor in New Jersey and Arizona. During his time in Arizona, he has been an editor of daily and weekly papers in Tempe, Scottsdale, Chandler, Ahwatukee, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Peoria and Glendale. Prior to moving to Arizona in 1984, when he was hired to be assistant city editor at the Tempe Daily News, he covered regional police\/fire news, municipal, county and state governments in New Jersey, the latter as bureau chief at the state Capitol.<\/p>\n
