Fort Worth\u2019s annual holiday kickoff will be delayed by a week this year because of a Harold Taft Memorial Downpour forecast for Sunday.<\/p>\n
The GM Financial Parade of Lights has been rescheduled for Nov. 30. They\u2019ll kick it off at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n
Safety first, plus no one wants to sit out in the rain even to see Santa Claus.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The parade, marking its 43rd year,\u00a0transforms downtown Fort Worth into a mile-and-a-half corridor of glowing floats, marching bands, antique cars, and, of course, St. Nick.<\/p>\n
Since its debut in 1983, the parade has grown into one of the largest illuminated holiday parades in the country. More than 100 entries will bring this year\u2019s theme, \u201cSparkle, Dazzle, Shine!\u201d to\u00a0life\u00a0with\u00a0new designs, brighter lights, and interactive elements.<\/p>\n
Families are encouraged to stay for the finale, when Santa and Mrs. Claus appear on a brand-new float designed to close the night with a bang.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s Grand Marshal is Chris Cassidy, a retired Navy SEAL and former NASA astronaut who now leads the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation.<\/p>\n
Reserved \u201cStreet Seats\u201d are available starting at $15.75 for children and $19.50 for adults,\u00a0providing\u00a0premium views along the 1.59-mile route. General admission\u00a0remains\u00a0free for those who prefer to enjoy the parade from the curb.<\/p>\n
Tickets\u00a0purchased\u00a0for the original Nov.\u00a023 date will be valid for the rescheduled event. Attendees unable to attend on Nov.\u00a030 can request a refund via the \u201cContact\u00a0eTix\u201d link in their confirmation email.\u00a0<\/p>\n
