COLOMBO (News 1st); The list of 350 medicines with maximum prices stipulated was tabled in Parliament today.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority, Specialist Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama, stated that accordingly, the prices of many types of medicines have decreased by various percentages, subject to a maximum reduction of 40 percent.<\/p>\n
The price of Paclitaxel medicine, administered to cancer patients, has been reduced from Rs. 42,000 to Rs. 26,332.<\/p>\n
The price of another medicine given to cancer patients, the Cisatracurium Besilate injection, has been reduced from Rs. 3,157 to Rs. 2,610.<\/p>\n
The Adalimumab injection, has been reduced from Rs. 74,500 to Rs. 40,717.<\/p>\n
The price of the blood pressure medicine Losartan Potassium has been reduced from Rs. 11 to Rs. 8.<\/p>\n
