\u00a0fighting for her life<\/a> after she was run over and left in the parking lot of a Military Drive apartment complex earlier this month, family members told KENS 5.<\/p>\nAlexandra Rodriguez was found unconscious on the afternoon of Nov. 8 during rush hour. Police said she was discovered in the parking lot of the complex, and her family believes she was walking home from the parking lot when she was struck. Tire marks were found on her lower back, relatives said.<\/p>\n
Rodriguez suffered two skull fractures and remains in a medically induced coma.<\/p>\n
\u201cYesterday I talked to [the] brain doctor. He said I just have to have some patience,\u201d her mother, Annette Cardenas, told KENS 5. \u201cThanksgiving was her favorite holiday. She was so looking forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Instead, Rodriguez will spend the holiday in the hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been hard also because she has three young boys that need her, and I\u2019m just kind of lost for words,\u201d said her aunt, Brenda Sanchez.<\/p>\n
Police have not released information about a suspect or vehicle. But the family hopes investigators will soon share an image of the man they believe is responsible for the major crash.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t know if he lived in the apartments or if he was visiting,\u201d Cardenas said. \u201cWe do know he was driving. We do know [the vehicle] has damage to it, because as he was leaving he crashed into the gate.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTo know that an individual, a human being, just left another person like that with no remorse\u2026 it\u2019s a sad world that we live in,\u201d Sanchez said.<\/p>\n
The family has created a GoFundMe to help cover medical expenses and to keep Rodriguez\u2019s home while she recovers.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe had her own place, so we want to keep that for her so when she comes out she won\u2019t have to worry about not having a home or how she will be able to pay anything,\u201d Cardenas said.<\/p>\n
