Storms are fading around Gainesville and dry conditions are expected for most areas in and around the city. Meteorologist Mark Collins highlighted that this is great news for those preparing displays, saying the weather should be \u201con their side tonight for many of the fireworks locations.\u201d That means all the hard work that goes into setting up\u2014no need to worry about rain soaking your plans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">By tomorrow, that breeze picks up a touch 10-15 and higher gusts at the coast from Tropical Depression Three that is moving away from Florida. This will keeping highs below 90 degrees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Mid-morning showers shift inland by afternoon west of Highway 301 on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The 30% of scattered showers are likely in the morning around coastal locations and shift past town after lunchtime before headed out toward I-75 by the afternoon and evening. It will be a mostly mostly dry afternoon at the coast. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Looking ahead to Sunday, rain chances go up as moisture is drawn back into what could be tropical Storm Chantel headed into the Carolinas. The Weather Authority predicts a 40 percent chance of rain by Sunday, increasing into the following week with even higher chances (up to 70 percent by midweek) as a wetter pattern takes hold. <\/p>\n<p>Tropical Depression heads to North Carolina SAturday night into Sunday morning\u2014but no local impacts expected this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Reconnaissance flights found 35 mph winds, making the circulation of a tropical depression. Regardless of development, no impacts from this system are expected in the Jacksonville area through Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The strongest winds are likely to remain north toward the Carolinas, with only indirect effects\u2014like increased moisture and the chance for more showers\u2014possible later in the weekend.
