NYC\u2019s list of turkeys grows<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s nearly Thanksgiving, so: Be aware the prices are up<\/a>, the lifestyle\u2019s down.<\/p>\n

The hookers are up, the quality\u2019s down. Hospitals are up, the care is down. Costs are up, the shoppers down.<\/p>\n

The President\u2019s up, the patriotism\u2019s down. Schools are up, the teaching\u2019s down.<\/p>\n

The traffic\u2019s up, the highways are down. The coffee\u2019s up, the Starbucks are down.<\/p>\n

The rents are up, the savings are down. The holiday is up, the joy is down.<\/p>\n

The winter is up, the temperature\u2019s down. The mayor\u2019s up, but his future is down.<\/p>\n

The necklines are low, and so are the asses. The trash is out, and so are the rats.<\/p>\n

Broadway\u2019s up, but the quality\u2019s down. Newscasts are up, but viewership\u2019s down.<\/p>\n

Travel is up<\/a>, but the airplanes are down. The subways work, but the safety doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

The sales are up but the merchandise is down. The city\u2019s down, but the scaffolding\u2019s up.<\/p>\n

The movies are out, but so\u2019s the talent. The politicians are up, but their values are down.<\/p>\n

Pot is in, but soon comes casinos<\/a>. The Democrats are up \u2014 but let\u2019s not mention them.<\/p>\n

Gone to the dogs<\/strong><\/p>\n

The dogs are up \u2014 but so\u2019s their poop. Ozempic\u2019s up<\/a>, as are today\u2019s behinds.<\/p>\n

Thefts are up but the NYPD is down. The satellites are up, the country\u2019s down.<\/p>\n

The Saudis are up<\/a>. The Jews are down. Foreign language is up, English is down.<\/p>\n

Cocktail parties are in, but the UN is out. Newscasts are up but the information\u2019s down.<\/p>\n

Never forget that Lincoln lived in a log cabin. No lights, no heat, no running water, no working john. Honest Abe probably had a New York City landlord.<\/p>\n

And remember this \u2014 Thanksgiving is not when it\u2019s turkey for turkeys. With humans that\u2019s April 15.<\/p>\n

So, consider my question: Why\u2019d it have to be turkeys? Why not lamb chops?<\/p>\n

Not as easy as pie<\/strong><\/p>\n

One more additional piece of news. What President\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0will do Thanksgiving. He\u2019ll pray because he has several problems \u2014 the budget and his mayoral guest. Both might be unbalanced. The holiday began in 1621 in Plymouth, Mass., and lasted three days. Can you imagine sitting with your brother-in-law eating Brussels sprouts for three days?<\/p>\n

Second thing: When John Hancock signed the Declaration of Independence, it was the first insurance policy he wrote that guaranteed all men are created equal. Who knows if he intends to pay off on\u00a0James Comey.<\/p>\n

Hey, it\u2019s America\u2019s holiday. Thanksgiving. It\u2019s love. It\u2019s appreciation. It\u2019s the United States of America.<\/p>\n
