GLENDALE, Ariz.<\/strong> \u2013 There was a lot of good and a lot of not as good.<\/p>\n

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence<\/a> kept throwing and playing through it all \u2013 and because he did, and because he made big plays at big times, he stood on tall and bold on a winner’s podium after a very big Jaguars victory Sunday.<\/p>\n

“I’m never going to play scared,” he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Lawrence, the Jaguars’ fifth-year quarterback, threw 3 touchdown passes and directed what turned into the game-winning drive in a 27-24 overtime victory over the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium Sunday<\/a>. Those plays countered 4 turnovers by Lawrence, 3 interceptions and a fumble that was returned for an early touchdown.<\/p>\n

The turnovers kept the Cardinals in the game. The touchdowns are a big reason the Jaguars won for a second time in as many weeks and are now a game behind the Indianapolis Colts in a tightly-contested AFC South.<\/p>\n

“I always have faith in Trevor,” said Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange<\/a>, who caught five passes for a team-high 93 yards in his first game back after a five-game absence with a hip injury. “Trevor’s my quarterback, man. I never don’t have faith in Trevor.<\/p>\n

“Whatever he does, I’m right there with him no matter what. Right there with him.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Lawrence on Sunday completed 18 of 30 passes for 256 yards, with three critical touchdowns: A 15-yarder in the first quarter to running back Travis Etienne Jr.<\/a>, a 10-yarder in the third quarter to wide receiver Jakobi Meyers and a 9-yarder to wide receiver Parker Washington<\/a> that gave the Jaguars a 24-21 lead with 3:37 remaining.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"GLENDALE, Ariz. \u2013 There was a lot of good and a lot of not as good.
