WICKENBURG, AZ (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed on Monday that a weak tornado touched down northwest of Phoenix in Maricopa County last week. <\/p>\n
The tornado was reported near Forepaugh<\/a>, a small community near Wickenburg, last Tuesday, Nov. 18. The short-lived twister has a preliminary rating of EF-O, the lowest rating on the Enhanced Fujita Scale<\/a>, with wind speeds estimated at 80-85 miles per hour.<\/p>\n The NWS says that the storm damaged property near U.S. Highway 60, including an overturned RV trailer. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n We can confirm that a weak, short-lived tornado touched down near Forepaugh, AZ last Tuesday November 18th. First responders also conducted multiple water rescues that day, but one man died after being swept away<\/a> in flash flooding in Cordes Lakes.<\/p>\n While tornadoes in Arizona are not common, they are not unheard of. Most of the time, they are weaker varieties like the one that struck Forepaugh. <\/p>\n But as shown by the damage, even weak tornadoes can be dangerous.
