The Chicago Bears didn\u2019t have to face longtime nemesis Aaron Rodgers on Sunday, but quarterback Caleb Williams still chatted with the legendary signal caller after the game.<\/p>\n
Williams threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns on the afternoon in a 31-28 Bears victory, but what did he say to Rodgers after the game wrapped up?<\/p>\n
According to the Bears\u2019 quarterback, it was a very quick chat and a very simple message.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight after the game, we ended up saying \u2018hello, get healthy and we’ll go from there,\u2019\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n
Rodgers was unable to play after suffering a broken bone in his left wrist during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, meaning that he wasn\u2019t able to take on the Bears for what may be the final time in his NFL career.<\/p>\n
Rodgers has a 24-5 career record against Chicago, throwing for 64 touchdowns and posting a quarterback rating of 109.0 in those games. That includes beating the Bears in the 2011 NFC Championship Game at Soldier Field, and also included a lengthy winning streak over Chicago that has tilted the all-time series in favor of the Green Bay Packers.<\/p>\n
Still, the Bears took having to face Mason Rudolph and ran with the opportunity as they bumped their winning streak up to four games.<\/p>\n
Defensive tackle Montez Sweat said that the team was focused on its business, rather than bemoaning the fact that they could face Rodgers on Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would have loved to play Aaron Rodgers, he\u2019s a great QB,\u201d He said. \u201cI sacked him a couple of years ago. I would love to get him again. Whoever is out there we have to do what we have to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
