Traffic on Broadway is being diverted to Alamo Street while SAWS crews work to repair the ruptured water line. <\/p>\n

SAN ANTONIO \u2014 San Antonio water officials say both directions of Broadway at Grayson, just north of downtown and a few blocks from the Pearl, is expected to remain closed until Monday night at the earliest as crews work to repair a water line that ruptured overnight.<\/p>\n

About 26 feet of a 24-inch water line line in the area broke, according to San Antonio Water System (SAWS). Water was seen covering Broadway between East Josephine and East Grayson.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Traffic was seen being diverted to Alamo Street while crews work to repair the damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As of 8 a.m. on Monday, San Antonio Water Systems says that 35 people are without water at this time. The closure of Broadway at Grayson is continuing “to ensure safe access for construction equipment and removal of dirt\/debris.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

SAWS officials say ongoing drought in San Antonio contributed to the break as well as other “main water failures” in recent months.\u00a0<\/p>\n
