Eric Dane is making his return to TV after his ALS diagnosis<\/a>. <\/p>\n

While the \u201cCountdown\u201d star has been onscreen since going public with his health struggles<\/a> earlier this year, his role in \u201cBrilliant Minds\u201d is the first project he filmed post-diagnosis.<\/p>\n

The actor, 53, will play a firefighter named Matthew struggling to tell his family about his ALS on Monday night\u2019s episode of the NBC show, according to People<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The outlet\u2019s sneak peek took place in a hospital waiting room alongside Zachary Quinto as Dr. Oliver Wolf.<\/p>\n

When Dane\u2019s character said it was \u201calways good to see\u201d the doctor, Quinto referred to him as \u201cBronx Gen\u2019s favorite silver fox.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to chatting with Quinto, the \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy\u201d alum bantered with Nurse Nico Silva, played by Al Calderon, about a fellow firefighter who ghosted the nurse.<\/p>\n

The clip concluded with Quinto getting Dane \u201cin for [his] monthly check-up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dane made headlines for his diagnosis in April, one month after calling off his divorce<\/a> from estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEuphoria\u201d star<\/a> explained, \u201cI have one functioning arm. My dominant side, my left side, is functioning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last week, Gayheart clarified her \u201csuper complicated\u201d dynamic<\/a> with her former partner as they co-parent daughters<\/a> Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13.<\/p>\n
