Everybody Loves Raymond<\/a>\u2018s long-awaited reunion special has finally arrived on CBS<\/a>, and it packed an emotional punch as the series creator and stars remembered their late colleagues.<\/p>\n

While Doris Roberts<\/a> and Peter Boyle<\/a>, who played Ray Barone\u2019s (Ray Romano<\/a>) parents, Marie and Frank, may have died in the years since the comedy\u2019s finale in 2005, some viewers may not realize that another key member of the family is missing in 2025, as Sawyer Sweeten<\/a>, who played Geoffrey Barone, is also gone.<\/p>\n

Sawyer was the real-life brother of onscreen sibling performers Madylin Sweeten<\/a> and Sullivan Sweeten<\/a>, and in 2015, the young actor died by suicide at the age of 19. The reunion special didn\u2019t shy away from Sawyer\u2019s loss as Madylin and Sullivan shared the stage with their TV family, including Romano, Patricia Heaton<\/a>, Brad Garrett<\/a>, Monica Horan<\/a>, and series creator Phil Rosenthal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As Madylin and Sullivan reminisced about their childhoods behind the scenes, Sullivan, who was also Sawyer\u2019s twin, said of his experience on the show, \u201cI definitely feel like I carried that experience through my whole life. I try to bring that kind of comedy wherever I go.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about their favorite episodes of the series, Madylin noted that she enjoys \u201cMarie\u2019s Sculpture,\u201d but Sullivan selected the series finale, as he shared, \u201cI\u2019m a sucker for a happy ending, and the final scene with everyone gathered around the table\u2019s gotta be my favorite memory.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Romano interjected by asking, \u201cCan we mention\u2026\u201d Madylin finished his query by saying, \u201cSawyer? Yes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSawyer, of course, is no longer with us, and we miss him, and he\u2026 was just this bright energy, light,\u201d Romano said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of us really expected what happened, but you know, I try to think about the good moments, and oftentimes, that\u2019s here on this set,\u201d Sullivan noted.<\/p>\n

Still, the Sweeten siblings took a moment to raise awareness around suicide prevention. \u201cI just think it\u2019s so important in any conversation that we\u2019re having about Sawyer, we\u2019re very passionate in our family about suicide prevention,\u201d Madylin stated. \u201cIt is the second-leading cause of death between the ages of 18 to 25, but ninety percent of people who seek treatment are cured,\u201d she added. \u201cAnd so many of the messages we get are people saying I\u2019m so grateful to have heard about your brother. He saved my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heaton asked the siblings if there was an organization that they worked with in memory of Sawyer, and Madylin clarified, \u201cWe work with the national suicide prevention hotline, that\u2019s our main place. But you know, people can grab a Sawyer t-shirt. We do t-shirts every year, and all of the proceeds go there.\u201d<\/p>\n
