Here\u2019s what to know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>JACKSONVILLE, Fla. <\/strong> \u2013 Winter in Florida is typically associated with beaches and palm trees, but in Jacksonville, one group is looking to bring some cooler traditions into the mix as we approach the Christmas holiday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Beginning on Friday, Nov. 28 and running through Jan. 19, downtown Jacksonville will be host to the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jaxonice.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.jaxonice.com\/\"> city\u2019s first-ever outdoor ice skating rink<\/a> at the Artist Walk Skatepark near the Riverside Arts Market. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The event,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jaxonice.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.jaxonice.com\/\"> dubbed JAX Artist Walk on Ice,<\/a> will operate daily from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and until 10 p.m. on Fridays. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">During the weekends, it will open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and until 8 p.m. on Sunday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">General admission tickets, which include skate rental and about an hour and 15 minutes on the ice, are priced at $17 plus a $1.50 fee and taxes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Special discounts will be offered on select nights. A breakdown of those nights are listed below. <\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 kDvXdO font_openSans articleList\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p><b>Monday Cheapskate Nights:<\/b> Dec. 1, 8, 15, Jan. 12<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p><b>Tuesday-Friday Discounts (excluding holiday weeks): <\/b>Dec 2-4, 9-11, 16-18 and Jan. 7-8. 13-15<\/p>\n<ul class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 ehhZIC\">\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Deals: Military and First Responders pay $15 for skates, 75 minutes on the ice (up to 4 people, ID required)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>College Students: $15 (ID required)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__StackBase-sc-1fnzlkn-7 ecGWWE iQviKm\">\n<p>Rush Hour Skating (4-5 p.m.): $13<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Other special events include a \u201cSkating &amp; Santa\u201d promotion that will take place on Nov. 28 and 29, Dec. 7 (4-6 p.m.), 14 (noon to 2:30 p.m.), 21, and 23. All times are from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Additionally, on Dec. 7 and 14, JAX Artist Walk on Ice will be hosting a Jacksonville Jaguars Game Day Swag Night.
