{"id":403078,"date":"2025-11-25T07:16:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T07:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/403078\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T07:16:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T07:16:12","slug":"ballet-san-antonio-to-ring-in-40-years-with-the-return-of-the-nutcracker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/403078\/","title":{"rendered":"Ballet San Antonio to ring in 40 years with the return of \u2018The Nutcracker\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThe Nutcracker&#8221; cast features 26 professional dancers, more than 100 local children, and eight community guests as Mother Ginger. <\/p>\n<p>SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Ballet San Antonio&#8217;s annual tradition &#8220;The Nutcracker&#8221; returns to the Tobin Center in hopes of bringing the spirit of Christmas back to the Alamo City, and celebrates 40 years of the beloved dance company.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nutcracker&#8221; cast features 26 professional dancers, more than 100 local children, and eight community guests as Mother Ginger, including Dr. Seabrook Jones of San Antonio College, Kevin Matula of USAA, and Dr. Angie White of Child Advocates San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>Eight performances at the Tobin Center, running Dec. 5\u201314, will feature live accompaniment by The Orchestra San Antonio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are available now at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tobincenter.org\/nutcracker\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tobincenter.org<\/a>, by phone at <strong>210-223-8624,<\/strong> or in person at the Tobin Center Box Office on 100 Auditorium Circle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nPerformance dates:\u00a0                    <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday, December 6 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Sunday, December 7 at 2 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Friday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Saturday, December 13 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Sunday, December 14 at 2 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This year, San Antonio&#8217;s professional ballet company has been focusing on ensuring as many children can experience their performances through its <a href=\"https:\/\/balletsanantonio.org\/send-the-kids-to-the-ballet\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Send the Kids to the Ballet&#8221; program.<\/a> Last season, 5,188 \u00a0children from underserved communities were able to enjoy a free abbreviated performance of &#8220;The Nutcracker.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ballet San Antonio is offering Texas schools free access to its filmed 2021 performance of &#8220;The Nutcracker&#8221; through Tuesday, Dec. 31.
