The 23-year-old has just enjoyed her best professional season to date, helping the Fever reach the WNBA Playoff Semifinals <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.themirror.com\/sport\/basketball\/caitlin-clark-wnba-commissioners-cup-1239305\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"and win the Commissioner&#039;s CupLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">and win the Commissioner&#8217;s Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">The three-time WNBA All-Star averaged a career-best 15 points per game in the league in 2025 and was named on the All-WNBA Second Team. Boston helped the Gamecocks win a national championship in 2022 and was named the NCAA Tournament MOP (Most Outstanding Player) for her efforts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">In 2022, Boston was also recognized as the AP Player of the Year and Naismith College Player of the Year, among other honors. Her tremendous college career led to the Fever picking her first overall in the 2023 WNBA Draft.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/0_GettyImages-2238167270.jpg\" alt=\"Aliyah Boston enjoyed an excellent 2025 season\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Aliyah Boston enjoyed an excellent 2025 season(Image: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">After South Carolina defeated Kim Mulkey&#8217;s LSU in February 2023, Staley said of Boston: &#8220;I think the beauty of Aliyah is her entire body of work. And there\u2019s not anyone like her who produces on both sides of the basketball. Nobody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">&#8220;So, as far as I\u2019m concerned &#8211; and I\u2019ve got no vote in it besides my mouthpieces &#8211; she is the best player in the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">And Staley said two months before that: &#8220;It takes four people (to guard Boston). No one in the country has to guard that. No one has to guard against all of that. Because of her, everyone on our team got better. She\u2019s still the best player in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">&#8220;I don\u2019t care what people post or say or whatever &#8211; no one\u2019s seeing what she\u2019s seeing. And until someone is seeing that, then you really can\u2019t take her National Player of the Year award away.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">Boston&#8217;s time in Indiana has been slightly overshadowed by Caitlin Clark&#8217;s emergence at the Fever. Like Boston, Clark was also a first overall pick and named the WNBA&#8217;s Rookie of the Year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">Clark was forced to take a back seat in 2025 due to multiple injuries, but she&#8217;s played enough with Boston to know what her teammate is capable of.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">&#8220;She has such a good feel for the game,&#8221; Clark said of Boston. &#8220;Such a great facilitator for our team. She\u2019s the best all-round post player in the league. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s up for question.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"themirror\">Indiana will hope both Boston and Clark stay healthy in 2026 to mount a challenge for the championship.
