Ireland Baldwin<\/strong><\/a> slammed Kim Kardashian<\/strong><\/a> for allegedly carrying a rare elephant leather Birkin on her series All\u2019s Fair.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Daniel Wesson<\/strong> \u2014\u00a0the fashion-focused content creator behind the account Birkin Junky<\/a> \u2014\u00a0posted an Instagram Reel on November 21 showing Kardashian, 45, with the gray Herm\u00e8s handbag in a clip from the Hulu legal drama, in which she plays glamorous divorce attorney Allura Grant. Elsewhere in Wesson\u2019s Reel, there were glimpses of Kardashian posing with the bag during a break in filming.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is \u2026 Beyond,\u201d a horrified Ireland, 30, wrote in the comments section of the post, per Buzzfeed<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The daughter of exes Alec Baldwin<\/strong> and Kim Basinger<\/strong> also shared her reaction via Instagram Stories, writing, \u201cThis is so disgusting and shameful. I don\u2019t understand how these people are supported the way they are.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOf course, Kim Kardashian has one of the most rare Birkin bags to ever exist. The 42-year-old reality star was spotted carrying the Himalayan Birkin bag \u2014 which featured smooth crocodile skin, a white pattern with chic brown lining, small handles and silver embellishments \u2014 at an Al-Nassr vs. Paris Saint-Germain game in Osaka, Japan [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Ireland was not alone in her criticism, with many detractors arguing that Kardashian had crossed an ethical line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHerm\u00e8s no longer makes elephant leather bags (Thank god) but back in the 80s they had a custom order made by a client of Herm\u00e8s who brought in [an] elephant hide from a hunting safari,\u201d Wesson claimed in the caption of his Kardashian-centric post. \u201cThey rarely pop up but when they do, they take the internet by storm \ud83d\udc5c.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to PETA<\/a>, the French luxury label never \u201cofficially\u201d sold the elephant purses but did craft a number of them from the elephant skin. The off-market purses have since been spotted on the digital shelves of high-end vintage sellers like 1stDibs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kardashian, a Birkin bag collector, recruited stylist Soki Mak<\/strong> to pull together her sleek All\u2019s Fair wardrobe, which consists of vintage pieces from John Galliano, Donna Karan and Jean Paul Gaultier.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kardashian reached out to Mak via Instagram about collaborating on Allura\u2019s look<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, when I first opened the DM from Kim, I thought it was a fake profile,\u201d Mak said in a recent interview with Vogue. \u201cWe collaborated on a couple of projects together before the All\u2019s Fair opportunity came around. Everything was moving at such a fast pace that I didn\u2019t really have time to digest the magnitude of the opportunity and what I was about to embark on. It was all very last-minute.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mak told the outlet that she and Kardashian \u201cknew the show would be a talking point, regardless of whether it\u2019s to someone\u2019s taste. What we were trying to convey with Allura is that she doesn\u2019t give a s*** what other people think. She knows exactly what she likes and doesn\u2019t follow trends. She has her own style and has fun with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThe confidence comes with a woman who can wear clothes, not let them wear her. There\u2019s a sense of freedom in that, and I think that you can see that when Allura walks down the hallway in the law office, she exudes confidence. These outfits were obviously exaggerated for TV, especially the Jean Paul Gaultier look with the thong detail. I know a lot of people on set were also confused, but Kim and [producer] Ryan<\/strong> [Murphy<\/strong>] got it straight away.\u201d<\/p>\n
