Roads in the area are blocked off and evacuations are ongoing as crews respond to the gas leak in the 300 block of North Market Street, officials say.<\/p>\n

DALLAS \u2014 Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Hazmat team is responding to an underground gas leak Tuesday in Downtown Dallas, leading to evacuations and road closures in the area, officials say.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DFR says their crews, including their HazMat team, were called shortly after 9 a.m. to the site in the 300 block of North Market Street in the West End area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Most roads in the area have been blocked off as crews respond, officials said, and evacuations are ongoing. DFR says it’s working with Atmos to resolve the issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) said <\/a>all DART service in the West End area is suspended.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DART said in a post on\u00a0social media<\/a> that bus and rail passengers should expect delays because of the gas leak. DART says passengers should look for shuttle buses at Pearl\/Arts District, EBJ Union, Deep Ellum and Victory stations.<\/p>\n

“Please allow additional travel time to reach your destination,” DART added in the post.\u00a0<\/p>\n
