{"id":404428,"date":"2025-11-25T21:08:17","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T21:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/404428\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T21:08:17","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T21:08:17","slug":"picos-2026-headset-to-have-4k-micro-oled-displays-r1-style-chip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/404428\/","title":{"rendered":"Pico&#8217;s 2026 Headset To Have 4K Micro-OLED Displays &#038; R1-Style Chip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pico&#8217;s 2026 headset will have 4K micro-OLED displays and a dedicated R1-style passthrough chip, a ByteDance executive reportedly said.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese news outlet STAR Market Daily reports that during the 2025 ByteDance Scholarship Award Ceremony, ByteDance Vice President of Technology, Yang Zhenyuan, described key details of Pico&#8217;s next-generation headset.<\/p>\n<p>We first heard that ByteDance&#8217;s Pico was working on a high-end headset two years ago, when The Information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/pico-5-canceled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported <\/a>that Pico 5 had been canceled in favor of a short-term Pico 4 refresh and a longer-term Apple Vision Pro competitor.<\/p>\n<p>That short-term headset arrived last year as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/pico-4-ultra-hands-on-impressions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pico 4 Ultra<\/a>, while the Vision Pro competitor seems to be what Zhenyuan described.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"kg-bookmark-container\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uploadvr.com\/pico-5-canceled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>Pico 5 Has Reportedly Been Canceled<\/p>\n<p>Pico 5 has reportedly been canceled as ByteDance shifts its focus to a further out high-end headset to compete with Apple Vision Pro.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Pico-1.png\" alt=\"\" onerror=\"this.style.display = 'none'\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to STAR Market Daily, Zhenyuan said that the headset will feature &#8220;custom&#8221; micro-OLED panels with 4000 pixels per inch (PPI).
