Harris County task force working to arrest violent criminals, clears more 1,300 outstanding warrants in less than a year<\/b><\/a><\/p>\nHarris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the operation resulted in 80 arrests and 103 warrants cleared, with 96 felony warrants and 53 related to crimes against children.<\/p>\n
Gonzalez reminded the public why swift action against violent fugitives is vital for community safety.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know this work will stop these suspects from inflicting more harm on our neighbors, friends, and families,\u201d Gonzalez said. \u201cWhen warrants are issued for these violent crimes, every day the target remains free. It is another day for them to hurt someone. We can\u2019t let that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
The sheriff detailed a significant arrest that exemplifies the type of violent offenders the task force aims to apprehend.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the most significant arrests involved Joshua Aaron Gomez, who has been linked to multiple sexual assaults and misconduct spanning from 2019 to 2025,\u201d Gonzalez said. <\/p>\n
Gomez, a former chiropractor stripped of his license in 2019, allegedly used his position to assault women under the guise of medical treatment. 13 women have come forward, and multiple felony charges have been filed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not just clearing warrants, we are protecting survivors, interrupting cycles of violence and making sure those who harm others cannot continue doing so,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
