{"id":404802,"date":"2025-11-26T00:52:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T00:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/404802\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T00:52:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T00:52:11","slug":"why-ariana-grande-and-jonathan-baileys-love-scene-was-cut-from-wicked-for-good","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/404802\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey&#8217;s love scene was cut from &#8216;Wicked: For Good&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande filmed a \u201cWicked: For Good\u201d kissing scene that ultimately proved to be a little too steamy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a scene between Fiyero and Glinda that we cut in which they kissed; it was romantic and beautiful, but a little too passionate,\u201d the movie\u2019s co-writer Dana Fox recently <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/11\/wicked-for-good-ending-explained-screenwriter-interview-1236625871\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">told\u00a0Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the sweeping musical, Grande\u2019s character, Galinda (who becomes \u201cGood Witch\u201d Glinda), is betrothed to Bailey\u2019s character, Prince Fiyero \u2014 who ultimately betrays her for Cynthia Erivo\u2019s Elphaba (who becomes the \u201cWicked Witch of the West\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>A \u201cWicked: For Good\u201d co-writer explained why a steamy kissing scene between Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey didn\u2019t make the movie\u2019s final cut.  \u00a9Universal\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was too real that he and Glinda were actually feeling something together,\u201d writer Dana Fox told Deadline. \u00a9Universal\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeeing that made it too hard to watch him make the choice he makes to be with Elphaba, and made it too hard to make it OK that Elphaba ran off with him,\u201d Fox continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was too real that he and Glinda were actually feeling something together,\u201d Fox said, adding that while Fiyero \u201creally did love\u201d Glinda, he \u201clikes her in a different way.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut this scene was too romantic, so it was like, \u2018Oh, we can\u2019t know that because then our brains will explode when he doesn\u2019t choose her in the end. The epic two-part film was helmed by Jon. M.
