\n\tVin Diesel<\/a> is sending love to Dwayne Johnson<\/a> now that the \u201cFast and Furious<\/a>\u201d duo have apparently settled<\/a> their infamous feud. Diesel posted on Instagram a throwback photo of the two actors on set and wrote a lengthy caption in which he celebrated Johnson\u2019s contribution to the \u201cFast\u201d franchise and praised his performance as Mark Kerr in \u201cThe Smashing Machine<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOne of the greatest gifts in life isn\u2019t something you can buy, it\u2019s the relationships forged along the way,\u201d Diesel wrote, noting that he met the real Kerr when he first moved to California and trained with him for 2002\u2019s \u201cxXx\u201d movie. \u201cIn a beautiful way, he was there at the beginning of my action career. That\u2019s the kind of friend he\u2019s been from day one.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd let me celebrate Dwayne,\u201d Diesel continued. \u201cPeople don\u2019t understand what it takes to uphold a global perception every single day. I remember asking our global family who they\u2019d love to see me work with, and a woman named Jan left a comment saying her dream was for me to collaborate with Dwayne. What followed became one of the most dynamic pairings in cinema, two strong personalities who pushed each other and created something unforgettable. When he stepped into Hobbs, he did it with full commitment and left an indelible mark on Universal\u2019s character hall of fame.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDiesel concluded by acknowledging Johnson\u2019s \u201cSmashing Machine\u201d performance, writing: \u201cDwayne really did it\u2026 He brought us back in time and shined doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJohnson and Diesel\u00a0notoriously feuded\u00a0<\/a>during their time making \u201cFast and Furious\u201d movies. Their alleged beef originally went viral in August 2016 after Johnson called out a \u201cchicken shit\u201d and \u201ccandy ass\u201d co-star on Instagram. Word soon got out that Johnson was referring to Diesel, who later told\u00a0Men\u2019s Health\u00a0<\/a>in 2021 that the \u201ctough love\u201d he gave The Rock in trying to get a great performance out of him is what led to tension on set.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was a tough character to embody, the Hobbs character,\u201d Diesel said at the time. \u201cMy approach at the time was a lot of tough love to assist in getting that performance where it needed to be. As a producer to say, \u2018Okay, we\u2019re going to take Dwayne Johnson, who\u2019s associated with wrestling, and we\u2019re going to force this cinematic world, audience members, to regard his character as someone that they don\u2019t know.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDiesel stressed that he needed to step in to get the Hobbs performance he wanted out of The Rock, adding: \u201cHobbs hits you like a ton of bricks. That\u2019s something that I\u2019m proud of, that aesthetic. That took a lot of work. We had to get there and sometimes, at that time, I could give a lot of tough love. Not Felliniesque, but I would do anything I\u2019d have to do in order to get performances in anything I\u2019m producing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe feud appeared to come to an official end in 2023 after Johnson shocked fans by popping up in a \u201cFast X\u201d mid-credits scene. Diesel had extended an invitation to Johnson in November 2021 to join \u201cFast X,\u201d but Johnson said at the time that \u201cI would not be returning to the franchise.\u201d That turned out to be a bluff, and Johnson and Diesel will once again star in a movie together via the upcoming 11th \u201cFast\u201d movie if it gets off the ground.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLast summer Vin and I put all the past behind us,\u201d Johnson tweeted after \u201cFast X\u201d opened in theaters \u201cWe\u2019ll lead with brotherhood and resolve \u2014 and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDiesel\u00a0and\u00a0Johnson\u00a0came face to face<\/a>\u00a0earlier this year at the 2025\u00a0Golden Globes<\/a>.
