UNLV<\/a><\/strong> is putting together a strong recruiting class with Culver City (Calif.) linebacker Jordan Njoku<\/a><\/strong> being the latest impact player to announce for the Rebels.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2021 was the last time UNLV finished with a top 75 national recruiting class. Before 2021, you have to go way back to 2004, when the Rebels had an all time best No. 50 ranked class.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With the commitment from Njoku, the Rebels\u2019 class is now ranked No. 64 nationally and No. 2 in the Mountain West. Njoku is a player we like a lot and currently have him rated much higher than the rest of the Industry,\u00a0<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a high three-star with an 89 Rating and the No. 26 linebacker nationally by Rivals.com. He was a previously committed to New Mexico but flipped to UNLV earlier today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI visited UNLV two weeks ago and really liked it there,\u201d Njoku said. \u201cA big thing was they\u2019re giving me the option to play linebacker and that\u2019s where I\u2019m comfortable.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cCoach (Dan) Mullen<\/a><\/strong> and his staff are world class and I\u2019m very comfortable with them. They asked me questions outside of football and that meant a lot to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

UNLV is putting together a special season and are currently 9-2 on the year. They travel to play Nevada this weekend with a chance to win 10 games for the second year in a row.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team has real good chemistry on and off the field,\u201d Njoku said. \u201cThe facilities are second to none and I love the location. I\u2019m away from home but it\u2019s close enough where I can home and see my family for a weekend any time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNew Mexico is doing great things and coach Eck and the team are word class as well. I have a lot of respect there and coach Eck turned that team around over night. I\u2019m very thankful for this opportunity and I think UNLV is a great all around fit for me and my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

In just eight games this year, Njoku totaled 102 tackles, 16 for loss, three sacks and an interception. He\u2019s a fun player to watch because of his non-stop motor and ability to make plays all over the field.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We could see him playing inside or outside \u2018backer and he flashes some pass rush ability as well. He has a hoops background and we really like the upside and overall skill set Njoku brings to the table.
