SAN ANTONIO \u2014 A vacant home on the city\u2019s south side was destroyed Monday night after a fire broke out, according to the Bexar County Fire Marshal\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Fire crews responded around 9:55 p.m. to the 200 block of Benita Street, where they found a single-story home fully involved in flames. Firefighters quickly knocked down the main body of the fire and spent additional time putting out hot spots.<\/p>\n
Officials said power lines were down along the side of the home, adding to the hazards for responding crews. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
The house, which neighbors told investigators had been vacant for more than a year, was considered a total loss. Residents in the area reported previous homeless activity at the property and said the home was not secured.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire remains undetermined, authorities said.<\/p>\n
