Or the fact that you can find so many <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasobserver.com\/food-drink\/where-to-get-free-or-cheap-turkeys-in-dallas-17877809\/\">free and cheap meals<\/a> for the holiday. Or that this is home to seven of <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasobserver.com\/arts-culture\/grab-a-blanket-7-north-texas-cities-just-made-a-list-of-americas-coziest-40614671\/\">the country\u2019s coziest cities<\/a> \u2014 North Texas is officially the best pocket of the country to spend Thanksgiving in, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wallethub.com\/edu\/best-places-to-go-for-thanksgiving\/67603\">according to a new study<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WalletHub, a personal finance company, says three cities in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area are the most ideal places to cut the turkey this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The high rankings aren\u2019t exactly surprising on the heels of the Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s indication that 2025 is expected to be the busiest time for Thanksgiving travel in 15 years. The behemoth that is DFW Airport is expected to see some of the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasobserver.com\/news\/dfw-airport-will-be-third-busiest-in-u-s-for-thanksgiving-40620485\/\">highest flight traffic in the nation<\/a> this year. <\/p>\n<p>WalletHub says the metrics for this year\u2019s ranking include factors like affordability, celebrations and traditions, safety and accessibility, giving thanks and weather forecast.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWe\u2019re thankful for you. Still, Dallas and two of its suburbs made the top 10.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best cities for celebrating Thanksgiving all have an abundance of high-quality restaurants and places to buy festive decorations,\u201d WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said in a statement. \u201cAnd their residents get very excited for the holiday based on their Google search history.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"795\" width=\"1024\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/wallethub-thanksgiving.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40621056\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Though Dallas is among the top five, largely due to its high marks for the holiday\u2019s \u201ccelebrations and traditions\u201d category (at least we have one semblance of consistency to thank the Dallas Cowboys for), it scored a rank of 28 for affordability and landed at a dismaying No. 96 for safety.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Irving follows close behind in sixth place \u2014 this one doesn\u2019t exactly seem like it would have amassed a national reputation for being a holiday hotspot, but there are so many <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasobserver.com\/food-drink\/the-two-handed-chicken-sandwich-in-irving-at-the-toyota-music-factory-22567117\/\">damn-good eats over there<\/a>, and this is a holiday literally founded on food, after all. Sanjh on N. O\u2019Connor Blvd is <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasobserver.com\/food-drink\/dallas-restaurants-open-on-thanksgiving-day-40614668\/\">open for an Indian-fusion buffet brunch<\/a> on Thursday, by the way. <\/p>\n<p>Plano, which was also just named one of <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasobserver.com\/arts-culture\/north-texas-suburbs-make-top-10-list-of-best-places-to-move-in-texas-40616849\/\">the best places to live in Texas<\/a>, ranks at No. 7 overall. It scored quite high for the affordability, safety and giving thanks categories.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Garland landed just outside the top 20 while Arlington landed at No. 41.
