It’s never too early to book your summer vacation, even if you’re just about to sit down to Thanksgiving dinner.<\/p>\n

Which is why you may want to hear that Southwest Airline<\/a>s, already operating hundreds of flights every week out of San Diego International Airport’s Terminal 1, announced this week it was adding a new route to its menu.<\/p>\n

Starting Aug. 4 of next year, travelers from America’s Finest City will be able to hop up to Santa Barbara, its 44th destination from San Diego. The flight will be just once a day, according to the airline.<\/p>\n

The carrier plans on boosting its daily flights from SAN to an all-time high of 139 scheduled departures on peak days during August and September of 2026. That’s a lot of work for just one runway. In other Southwest news, the airline said that, beginning that same day in August, it planned to double daily round-trips between San Diego and Portland, Salt Lake City and Seattle.<\/p>\n
