The report estimates Apple will ship 243 million phones this year, while Samsung will ship 235 million, landing Apple a 19.4 percent share of the global smartphone market, less than 1 percent ahead of Samsung.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Counterpoint says the newly introduced iPhone 17 series garnered 12 percent more sales in its first four weeks than the iPhone 16 lineup, with sales boosted by \u201clower-than-expected\u201d impact from tariffs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Different analysts have reported different stats about who is the leader in phone shipments <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/1\/16\/24039830\/apple-bestselling-phone-manufacturer-2023-samsung-idc-canalys-research\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">over the last few years<\/a>, but by Counterpoint\u2019s evaluation, this will be the first time Apple has passed Samsung in phone shipments in 14 years.
